I stopped for lunch this weekend at White Oak Station just down the street from the Pinnacle Promenade Mall and close to the Interstate. This is not your ordinary convenience store although it has the usual range of things you can find there: gasoline, ready to go food, groceries, gift items, lottery tickets. What sets this location apart from most other such stores is the kind of upscale merchandise it carries. This is a gourmet food store with specialty products ranging from fine cheeses, to fresh sea food, to exotic bottled waters. In the deli section you can buy a dish of Italian inspired ice cream (galatto) or pizza by the slice or Chicago style hot dogs. To finish your meal selection, try one of the interesting bottled sodas available or chose a fountain drink. You can eat in their comfortable dining area, go out on the patio, or carry out if you are in a hurry.
This is one of those spots you might enjoy dropping by when you are in the area just to see what they have to offer. You'll enjoy it for the novelty, if for no other reason.
